Introducing Your New Principal
Dear Mulcahey Caregivers,
I am pleased to share that Lisa White has been appointed as the next principal of James L. Mulcahey Elementary School and will begin serving in this role with the start of the 2026–2027 school year.
Ms. White joins Taunton Public Schools from Middleborough Public Schools, where she served as principal of Mary K. Goode Elementary School. Earlier in her career, she served as an elementary principal in New Bedford Public Schools. Across more than 33 years in public education, she has led school improvement initiatives, strengthened curriculum and instruction, coached and developed educators, and partnered closely with caregivers and staff to help students succeed. Her experience leading schools in both urban and suburban communities has given her a broad perspective on meeting the needs of students with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and learning needs.
During the interview process, Ms. White demonstrated a collaborative approach to leadership and a clear understanding of the importance of strong relationships with students, caregivers, and staff. I am confident that her experience and leadership will build on the many strengths of James L. Mulcahey Elementary School.
As we look ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, I know our students, caregivers, and staff will join me in welcoming Ms. White to the Mulcahey Mustang community . I look forward to the leadership and experience she will bring to the school.
I wish all of our students, caregivers, and staff a safe, enjoyable, and restful summer.
Sincerely,
John Cabral
Superintendent of Schools
